The objective of this study is to analyze the relevance of integrated coastal management, with the case of two coastal Malagasy. This is to identify criteria for monitoring and improving the sectoral integration, spatial, institutional, and the relationship between science and management, necessary for its implementation.

- Publish and distribute the results of these work to develop them in particulary during seminars
- Put them available to decision-makers to reinforce the scientific base of environmental policy, not only in Madagascar, but also other regions (Indian Ocean region). -
Prospective analysis on forest ecosystems in the Congo Basin outlook for 2040.
The main objective of this work is to provide objective elements to decision support to understand and anticipate possible changes in forest ecosystems in the Congo Basin in next decades. It integrates into the studies realized in the past or in progress.

Through the joint approach of local practices of natural resource management and sustainable development-related public policy, we want to estimate to what extent the confrontation between the endogenous evolution of these practices and trajectories traced by the implementation of policies government is supporting sustainability. The study will be an orphan, but in line with the precepts of sustainable development: the tree management in rural areas.
